This has been a topic of interest to me since the early millennium when I accidentally stumbled through my mother's old romance novels looking for her Al Anon book to reference a biblical passage that confused me. In the box was a shiny designed cover so I pulled it out for a look, it was a canvased miniature, of an embossed volcano spewing lava that was sheen-ed. The title was in big red bold lettering DIANETICS.
The author's name? L. Ron Hubbard. Even at age 11, I was keeping up with Natural Selection, Origin of Species, and college mandate literature. I read all types of fiction, so I gave this book a whirl, technically what I got from it was that it's the perfect schematic for beginning a new religion using science fiction and pseudo truth about psychology.
The comprised version in a few words is that Xenu, an all powerful being from a race much like our own created us because his planet was dying, but could only salvage a small amount of our genetic potential to create us because it our genetic code was riddled with Thetians. The book was published back in 1950, a science fiction book so well written the author decide to take it one step further and make it the truth. Two years later with a cult following of even colleagues, avid followers and students....hang on to your e- meter more to come.
